Grand Rapids Peace Team

Grand Rapids Peace Team, an affiliate of Michigan Peace Team in Lansing, Michigan, is associated with the Institute for Global Education in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our Mission: To promote nonviolent solutions to conflict. Grand Rapids Peace Team exists to present nonviolence as a real alternative. We aspire to be a constructive, positive force, not simply a critical and reactionary one. We accomplish this through our visible presence in public actions and vigils; helping to plan and participate in local events; and speaking engagements.

"My attitude will be one of openness and respect toward all people I encounter -- even those with whom I disagree.
I will use no violence, verbal or physical, toward any person.
I will refuse to retaliate with violence if threatened, but will seek nonviolent ways to deal with conflict."
