FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Spring Team 2007Report #4Wednesday, May 2, 2007 --
Our Spring Team, spending a month in Palestine/Israel, has come to an end as Jim and Karen arrive home late last night, Tuesday, April 30. They have made it back safely, returning with a sense of satisfaction towards the overall accomplishments of their trip. Martha and Loretta, our Long-Term Team, will continue to be a presence in Palestine/Israel, as they are setting up a permanent headquarters for MPT near Bethlehem. The Spring and Long-Term Teams have brought to action MPT's mission of placing violence reduction teams in areas of domestic and international conflict. Making contacts, and promoting peace through non-violent intervention, were the (Jim and Karen with Palestinian Children) Spring Team's main focuses, and this work continues with our Long-Term Team. Violence continues to reside in the Middle East, but we know that from placing our teams in these areas, the amount of conflict and violence is reduced. We also know that acting as an international presence discourages the illegal and excessive mistreatment of innocent Palestinian citizens. We would like to thank Jim and Karen for their hard work and dedication towards active non-violent peace-making, and encourage your support as Martha and Loretta continue to be an active force in the on-going struggle for peace in Palestine/Israel.
